TexasHoops.com first reported that Trey Mohair will not be taking the football scholarship UTSA offered him. Hat tip to Mac78251 who alerted me to this after the spring game. I saw this tweet earlier in the day and chalked it up to relationship type stuff or something. It seemed pretty innocuous:
So I straight up asked Trey if the report was true via DM on twitter. He said yes, that he and his father came to the decision after deciding his heart wasn’t in the sport anymore.
It seemed pretty straight forward until you read the rest of the tweets that Rowdy Report posted.
Those don’t seem like the tweets of someone making a hard decision but rather those of someone who is having a decision made for him, yanno?
Trey was one of the better guys in this class so it sucks to lose someone of his caliber. If we didn’t “lose” him and instead pulled the offer … that is even more interesting. I hate to speculate so I won’t. Check back for more later, ya’ll.

Trey Mohair up for Greater Forth Worth VYPE Player of the Week
As most of the astute, ever-attentive readers of this here blog are aware, UTSA commit Trey Mohair is a two sport stud at Denton Ryan. His success on the basketball court has put him up for player of the week honors in the Greater Forth Worth area. If Trey wins the online vote he will be featured in the February issue of VYPE High School Sports Magazine. Voting ends this Friday at 5 pm. As of this posting, Trey is sitting in third place, well within striking distance of a late surge with the help of his new UTSA family. Be sure to stop by and show some love for a kid that signed on to play at UTSA early in the recruiting cycle and has spent good money out of pocket to visit San Antonio on unofficials in order to meet teammates and coaches. If you're not following Trey on Twitter, I suggest you do so. He's dedicated to this program through and through-- let's pay him back for his loyalty.
